OIWC's Guide to a Healthy Halloween Night

Halloween involves lots of sugary treats regardless if you are trick or treating with the little ones or passing out candy. Snacking on lots of “bite size” chocolate bars, tootsie pops and candy corn makes it easy to over-indulge without realizing it. Oviedo chiropractor, Dr. Ressler wants you to have a fun Halloween without straying too far from your wellness goals. Here are some great tips to keep you on the right track while you still enjoy the sweeter side of Halloween.

Decide on the best destination for trick or treating and create a map.  Depending on the size of designated area, set a goal to walk the entire route. Walking can help you burn off some of those candy calories and is a great form of cardio. This is because walking increases your heart rate. In fact, introducing daily walking into your activities is very beneficial for your over-all health. Creating this fun map will encourage your trick or treaters to get physical activity as they hunt for candy.

Whether you are trick or treating or passing out candy, set a limit on how much candy to eat. This will prevent you from consuming too much. You don’t need to refrain from eating any candy at all, just remember that moderation is key. Putting away or freezing a portion of the Halloween goods can help you and your family practice self-control.

Enjoy a pain free Halloween by sticking to a chiropractic routine! To make sure you can keep up with the kids while you are trick or treating with the family, stop by the office for a quick adjustment.  While people often wait for 30-45 minutes to see the doctor, our office gets you in immediately or within 15 minutes. Dr. Ressler, Oviedo chiropractor schedules with respect for your valuable time. Scheduling an appointment at Oviedo Injury and Wellness Center prior to the big day (Halloween) is a great way to guarantee that you will feel faBOOlous!

Because of all the distractions, watch out for the kids because they are not paying attention with all the excitement around them!!

If someone is not paying attention while driving and hits you’re your car. Remember, even if there is minor damage to your vehicle, you still may have been injured. Injuries from a car accident may not present for a few weeks. You only have 14 days from your auto accident to receive an examination or you will lose all your medical auto benefits. Every patient at Oviedo Injury and Wellness Center receives a customized treatment plan. Dr. Ressler works with orthopedics and specialist to make sure you get the proper car needed. He will order MRI studies to make sure there are no major injuries.  If you are looking for a “chiropractor near me” don’t hesitate to call 407-977-5005 and schedule an appointment with Oviedo Injury and Wellness Center.
