If you are not yet a patient at OIWC, Dr. Ressler understands that arriving at a doctor’s office for the first time may be intimidating. This is especially the case when you are in a lot of pain and discomfort. Oviedo’s top chiropractor, Dr. Ressler and the OIWC staff want your initial visit to be a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Dr. Ressler has over 20 years of experience treating patients in the Oviedo, FL area and our office provides state of the art chiropractic techniques.

Upon your first visit at OIWC, Dr. Ressler, your Oviedo chiropractor will perform a comprehensive examination to address your specific injuries and areas of pain. A popular question, particularly from those who are in a severe amount of pain is “how many adjustments does it take to feel better?”

Dr. Ressler’s customized treatment plan consists of three main phases of care. The first phase is called the “relief phase.” This is the first step with the sole purpose to alleviate your pain. To respond well to the treatment plan, Dr. Ressler must initially give you pain relief. Most OIWC patients get significant improvement with pain ranges in two to four visits. Ultimately, the number of visits in the relief phase depends on the type and extent of the injury. After Dr. Ressler has alleviated your discomfort, you will enter the second phase of care. This is called the “corrective or restorative phase.” Even if you are no longer feeling discomfort, completing the corrective phase of care, and finishing your entire personalized chiropractic treatment plan is key. This will ensure that your pain and injury does not re-occur. During the corrective care phase, your pain should be notably decreased which allows your muscles to heal more completely. Oviedo chiropractor, Dr. Ressler may prescribe 1 to 2 visits per week for the duration of 2 to 3 weeks. This time frame is to secure that the joint is stabilized, and further injury does not occur while your body continues to heal. Once you have completed the first two phases, the last and final care phase is called “wellness care.” This phase of care is also sometimes referred to as “maintenance.” Dr. Ressler, Oviedo chiropractor tells his patients that, “it is important to receive a chiropractic tune-up every three months.” A lot of the minor issues build up and accumulate over time. Then the problem becomes a big issue. These quarterly wellness or maintenance adjustments play a critical role in removing the minor misalignments and prevent future injuries.

Oviedo Injury and Wellness Center is a clinic built on chiropractic methods that are safe, gentle, and highly effective. Using an adjusting instrument called the “activator,” Oviedo chiropractor, Dr. Ressler treats many conditions. The activator is a spring-loaded instrument that operates by sending a low-force type pressure into the joint that is out of alignment. This action is precise and swiftly moves the joint back into correct position. No twisting of the neck or low back is involved. It is pain free and has helped hundreds of patients recover from injuries quickly.

Oviedo’s premier chiropractor, Dr. Ressler also uses a special table called the “flexion/distraction” table. It is designed to use a gentle hands-on approach to treat auto accident and disc injuries.

The flexion/distraction table is ideal to increase joint mobility, remove pain and is a conservative injury recovery alternative to surgery.
