Neck and Upper Back Pain

Most neck and upper back pain is caused by a combination of factors, including injury, poor posture, subluxations and in some instances, disc problems. Stress and tension may make the muscles that run from the back of the head across the back of the shoulder feel tight and painful.

Holding your head in a forward posture or odd position while working, watching TV or reading can cause neck pain. Forward head posture is very common for people who are stooped over their computers all day long, which can cause subluxations. Dr. Ressler can use chiropractic adjustments and trigger point therapy to ease tension and alleviate pain in the neck and shoulders. He can recommend ergonomics and stress management techniques which can reduce repetitive stress injury.  Without chiropractic care, subluxations like this can worsen over time.
