Reduce stress, save time, and prevent injury with the 2023 OIWC new year’s check list!

it’s the most wonderful time of year

The holiday lights are shining bright, the holiday cheer is bustling, and songs declare that “it’s the most wonderful time of year,” or is it? The end of 2022 is drawing near, and the new year is on the horizon. One thing is for sure, there is a lot to get done before it is officially 2023. Oviedo’s top chiropractor, Dr. Ressler recommends that patients create a “new year’s to-do list” in order not to feel overwhelmed with the tasks at hand. Although everyone’s new year’s to-do lists will be different, Oviedo Injury and Wellness Center has designed a guideline that is good for everyone to follow. Reduce stress, save time, and prevent injury with the 2023 OIWC new year’s check list!

DON’T rush! Take your time!

No matter the number of tasks, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by everything that needs to be done in time for 2023. Feeling swamped may instill a sense that you need to race through chores. Rushing may cause you to neglect an important errand or worse…lead to an injury. All too often, patients visit OIWC with injuries because they fell, lifted too much, or worked too hard to get chores done as quickly as possible. Oviedo’s injury chiropractor, Dr. Ressler advises patients that “working at a comfortable, steady pace will help you avoid an unwanted injury.” Do long repetitive tasks for a shorter period of time, take a break or do a different type of task then continue with your original task. You will still complete the task, but it will not cause the damage of doing it all at once and causing long term issues. Keep in mind that getting injured due to rushing will create additional time and tasks. This is because an injury will not only prevent you from completing tasks but will add time to allow for recovery. This certainly will cause you to feel even more overwhelmed than you did in the first place. To prevent pain and injuries, Dr. Ressler also recommends that you “plan ahead and have a strategy in place.” For example, let’s say you are hosting a New Year’s Eve party. You can plan by deciding what dishes you are going to serve and making a list of food or any items that you will need. Having a plan in place and knowing what you need before you leave the house will help cut down on your shopping time. In addition, you can set aside time or a day that is designated for prepping and cooking. When you map things out you can determine when they can be done and how long they may require. This gives you a timeline to achieve your goals. Map it out and realize that the map will be changing as you add things or realize there are other tasks involved.

DON’T let stress cause you to neglect your self-care!

Self-care is key to maintaining health and wellness. A terrific way to pamper yourself is with a medical massage. Medical massage therapy not only helps heal your injuries, but it is also great for relaxation and reducing stress. Massage therapy releases muscle tension, increases range of motion and breaks up scar tissue. Regular medical massage has a tremendous stress relieving effect on the entire body. Oviedo Injury and Wellness Center’s board-certified medical massage therapists have many years of advanced training and work directly with Dr. Ressler. Every massage at Oviedo Injury and Wellness Center is tailored to our patient’s specific needs and alleviates the source of pain. At only $75 per hour, an OIWC medical massage is an affordable way to give you self-care that is priceless!

Practice gratitude and DON’T forget to be thankful for all your blessings!

Stress can bring out the worst in people. Repeatedly, stress fills the mind with negative thoughts and emotions. It is important to quiet the negative thoughts and remind yourself that there’s a lot of positive things in your life. Remembering all you have to be grateful and create a sense of well-being. Reminding yourself of the good times or simple pleasures life has to offer will help you feel happier. Practicing gratitude is a wonderful way to reduce stress and extend holiday cheer all year long!

Keep on track with your chiropractic care routine, DON’T skip an adjustment!

Chiropractic adjustments are a safe way to relieve stress and pain. Dr. Ressler, Oviedo auto injury doctor/chiropractor uses an innovative chiropractic method called “the activator technique.”  This gentle, yet effective approach uses a specialized spring-loaded instrument called an “activator.” The activator corrects the misalignment of the exact vertebrae out of place by moving it back into proper position. It is precise and does not involve cracking or twisting of the neck or low back. Oviedo’s top chiropractor will also prescribe specific stretches to loosen tight muscles and keep you pain free. Maintaining your chiropractic routine ensures that you have optimal range of motion in your joints in preventing a future injury. For the best results for injury recovery, no matter how busy you may be, it is imperative that you stay on track with your chiropractic care routine. DON’T forget to schedule your end of the year chiropractic adjustment! Your end of 2022 spinal check-up is a great preventive measure. Call 407-977-5005 and rest assured that you are starting 2023 off right by being in alignment!

Most importantly if you have been involved in an auto accident, DON’T LOSE ALL OF YOUR MEDICAL BENEFITS!

Whether it was a minor fender bender or a major accident, pain from auto accident injuries may not be felt for days or even weeks after the incident. Florida law states that you only have 14 days from the accident to be evaluated or you will lose all your medical coverage for treatment related to the accident! Even a minor accident with no damage to your vehicle can cause injuries! DON’T risk losing all your medical benefits for the care you need! Dr. Ressler, chiropractor in Oviedo, uses a gentle technique to slowly return injured joints into proper position. We also provide physical therapy to assist in the recovery of whiplash. The quicker treatment is received, the better results and prevention of long-term damage. DON’T wait until it’s too late! Oviedo Injury and Wellness Center has late hours (Monday, Wednesday, Friday open until 7 pm) and same day appointments available so you can get the car accident injury treatment you need.
