-Play games that require movement, like dancing or joining a sports team.

-Explore nature by going on a hike, bird watching or taking a trip to the beach.

-Plant a garden or join a community garden.

-Set goals like cleaning and organizing a room or closet.

-Reach out to the local community for volunteering opportunities.

-Make healthy snacks and motivate kids to try a new fruit or vegetable.


Tips on How to Avoid an Injury 


-Make sure to use both arms when performing movements. For example, movements like raking, digging holes, shoveling, or carrying objects.

-Lift with your legs by bending at the knees to avoid injuring your back.

-Maintain your center of gravity by holding the object you are lifting or carrying close to you.

-If possible, work below shoulder level and above the knees.

-If you must work above shoulder level like lifting something overhead, keep it at a max of 5 minutes.

-Drink plenty of water. You need to drink at least 64 ounces of water per day.

-Take frequent breaks to avoid over-working.

-Don’t forget to have fun!
